UPDATE: What I’ve been focused on lately & New Direction
I’ve been a little quiet lately. Been super busy, what can I say?
So, I thought I’d write this quick message to give you an update on where I’m at and the new direction I’m heading in, as we start (or continue) to prepare for 2019.
Here’s what I’m focused on right now:
Sales Key LLC:
As many of you know, I have an extensive background in sales. Specifically, 15 years of outbound B2B sales and marketing.
Basically, that means I know a thing or to about cold calling/emailing companies to set meetings and close deals.
I’m not sure why it took so long to do this, but, last month I rolled out a beta version of the first service I am offering from my new company Sales Key:
A done-for-you LinkedIn lead generation service for B2B companies.
Essentially what we do is optimize your LinkedIn profile and then reach out to your target prospects to engage and generate appointments/meetings for you.
We weed out any responses that don’t qualify. For example, if it’s from someone outside your target market, etc..
You’re left with 15-35+ new, exclusive leads each month.
This means highly targeted conversations with decision makers, in your target market.
All our client needs to do is schedule the meeting and walk them through their sales process.
So far, we’ve enrolled 3 clients. The most noteworthy is an Inc 500 company, who is a competitor of salesforce.com.
Two clients are in the onboarding phase and one has had their campaign active for 11 days.
28 total leads and 21 of those are ready to schedule a call with my client!
For those who don’t know, that’s a fantastic response!
That’s what happens when you nail the targeting and messaging just right.
So, needless to say, we’re very excited and will be ramping things up considerably starting January 1st.
Right now, I’m in the process of finishing meetings scheduled through my personal network as well as putting the pieces in places to handle more clients.

My e-learning business is moving full steam ahead as Black Friday sales start to kick. November through the end of January are the busy time of year for this space.
I’ve got a great team in place to assist me and we’ve now been fortunate enough to have enrolled over 68,310 individuals and businesses (and growing daily), in 182 countries, in my online courses and training programs.
The bulk of those students have come through Udemy but also through other partner sites as well as from sales made from my own web properties.
I’m still creating new programs, in fact, I have a new course that will be coming out before the end of the year, that I’ll be sharing a sneak preview of, so stay tuned.
The big news here is that some of my courses have been picked up by corporations and included in employee wellness and training programs, so that has provided additional audiences and revenue streams.
Also, currently working on a deal that will get 6 of my courses in government-sponsored employee programs.
Coaching & Consulting:
Over the past 3 years, I’ve been offering various coaching and consulting programs.
Mainly for people looking to create their own online teaching/expert businesses as well as people wanting to improve their consultative sales results.
During the past 1.5 years, I dedicated some of my time and team’s resources each week to promoting that that business and it’s worked out well.
However, I came to some realizations about myself and the types of people I prefer to work with.
One such realization is that I prefer to work with actual companies.
Coaching and consulting is the most time consuming and mentally/emotionally draining activity of my day.
It can easily consume your attention and mindshare, even when you’re not working.
And I’ve found that working with beginners, individuals who are looking to start their first business is extra draining.
Some people are not cut out to be entrepreneurs.
Since they’ve never run their own business, they often have unrealistic ideas that are not aligned with reality.
They see posts, youtube videos and content about “making money online” or “creating passive income” and they think it’s easy to do.
It’s not. It can be done, predictably and consistently, but, it doesn’t happen overnight.
So, I’m still offering to coach for course creation, marketing, and Udemy, etc., but, I’m very selective about who I will work with.
I’m no longer actively growing this side of my business, however, I still get incoming inquiries for this program coming through existing marketing funnels.
I enroll clients on a case by case basis.
